With seven more people killed or found dead in rain-related incidents in the city on Saturday, the latest monsoon spell’s death toll continued to rise.
A woman, identified as 40-year-old Ishrat, was electrocuted to death at her residence in Orangi Town. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Similarly, another incident of electrocution claimed the life of Noor Hussain, 50. Moreover, a man died of electrocution near a nullah in Natha Khan Goth. He was later identified as 50-year-old Ghazi Khan.
Meanwhile, the body of a woman who had drowned to death was found from Korangi Crossing. While she could not immediately be identified, she was said to be around 35 years old. The deceased was shifted to the Edhi Home in Korangi.
The body of a young boy was also found from a pond in Musharraf Colony, Baldia Town, while another man, 25-year-old Bilal, drowned in a nullah in Manzoor Colony.
Separately, the body of a woman who had drowned to death the previous day was found from a house in Bhittaiabad, Gulistan-e-Johar. She was identified as 27-year-old Humaira.
On Friday, at least 10 bodies of citizens who had drowned to death in different nullahs and streams in the metropolis were retrieved, while at least 23 deaths were reported on Thursday as record-breaking rainfall lashed the city.
