Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on Thursday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was isolating with mild symptoms.
Taking to the microblogging webite Twitter, the PPP chairman urged people to wear masks and also said that he will be working from home and will be addressing the PPP foundation day via video link.
Bilawal has recently come back to Karachi after almost a month-long election campaign prior to the polls in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The PPP chairman has also been seen attending Pakistan Democratic Movement rallies.
As many as 40 deaths were reported across the country over the last 24 hours.
According to the latest statistics, 3,306 people were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours out of the 45,999 tests that were conducted during the same period.
The figure of patients recovered from the virus has now reached 396,198.
There are now 43,963 active cases in the country.
