Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on Thursday that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and was isolating with mild symptoms.
The PPP chairman is said to have tested positive following his political secretary, Jameel Soomro, testing postive for the novel coronavirus.
Revealing his test result in a tweet,, the PPP chairman urged people to wear masks. He said he will be working from home and will be addressing the PPP foundation day – scheduled to be held in Multan on November 30 – via video link.
Bilawal has recently returned to Karachi after running almost a month-long election campaign prior to the polls in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The PPP chairman also attended the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s rallies November 22 rally in Peshawar.
As many as 40 deaths were reported across the country over the last 24 hours.
According to the latest statistics, 3,306 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, out of the 45,999 tests that were conducted during the same period.
The figure of patients recovered from the virus has now reached 396,198.
There are now 43,963 active cases in the country.
